I’m so excited to finally share Alex and Jace’s story, and this cozy afternoon! Growing up in the same town, these two have known each other since middle school. Alex even had a crush on him for part of the time – if she only knew then! Their friendship grew in high school, and eventually led to 4 years of dating. When it came time to ask the bigger question, Jace pulled off the sweetest surprise!

They were heading to Greece for a mission trip, with a layover in Paris. Though they had started talking about forever, Alex’s parents confirmed that Jace still hadn’t mentioned it to them, so she assumed, though Europe would be a romantic proposal spot, that it must not be happening. Meanwhile, Jace (who had, indeed, asked permission) was sneaking the engagement ring through security, hoping that Alex wouldn’t notice the box! Making the most of their layover, they explored the city and eventually arrived at the Eiffel Tower. It was here that Jace knelt down, pulled out the ring, and asked for her forever – to Alex’s complete surprise! If the moment wasn’t already perfect, a random photographer happened to notice what was unfolding, and captured the whole thing for them!

It was only fitting to do their engagement session in Yakima, Washington, where it all began. I flew out fully expecting west coast freezing temperatures, but instead we were graced with the warmest afternoon in December! We ventured around Cascade Garden, a local wedding venue in Yakima, and I got to see first hand how sweet they are with each other! Alex and Jace, what a joy it was to spend the afternoon with you, I can’t wait for June!!
