I may be biased, but this is one of my favorite stories! It all began at our little townhouse. I was moving out to get married, and Cassie was moving in after me. She came over to meet everyone, and we knew instantly that she was the perfect fit, she was so sweet! I was bummed to miss out on living with her but we kept in touch and became friends in the process.
Meanwhile, one of the other girls living in the house (who also happens to be my sister-in-law!) had family in the area and loved having them over for dinner. A certain brother met a certain roommate, and history began in that little townhouse. I remember coming home after dinner one night, and asking Ben if he noticed them – it was so exciting to watch the story unfold!
So you can imagine my excitement when Michael invited Ben and I to be a part of his proposal. Cassie is a coffee connoisseur, so Michael told her that he wanted to show her a coffee shop by the Occoquan waterfront. As he left to pick her up, we went into a frenzy of hanging lights, lanterns, and florals (thank you Cedar & Lime, Co.!) before running off to our hiding spot. They arrived, and as Michael led her down the walkway, I could see tears forming as Cassie realized what was happening. He got down on one knee, and through her tears she said yes! It was all I could do to hold back my own tears, it was such a joyful moment. We hugged, celebrated, and soaked in the fact that these two are now officially engaged!!
Michael and Cassie, we love you guys and are so thrilled for you! Your relationship is so rooted in the Lord and it’s clear that He has a beautiful plan for you – thank you for inviting us to be a part of it!
Shoutout to Cedar & Lime Co. (another sister-in-law, we’re taking over) for the beautiful floral arrangements!
And to my sweet husband, and his friend Sam, for setting up the scene and willingly moving lanterns until I approved! 🙂
Cassie! Girl, congrats to you and hubby-to-be!!! ❤
