PERSONAL

3 Years

August 31, 2018

A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out my personal email inbox, and came across an old email from years ago – just a few months before our wedding. It was from my sister, who knows how sentimental I am.

“Hey T! I thought I would send you the email that Ben sent me answering all of those trivia questions for your bridal shower. I thought it might be fun for you to look through and reminisce!”

I had completely forgotten about this gem. Ben had to answer a series of questions about me, which we then read at my shower. (If you’ve been to a bridal shower, you’ve played this game) So in celebration of being married to this stud for 3 years now, I thought I’d share some fun facts about us – via Ben’s trivia responses. 🙂

Mixing in a few favorites from our anniversary session with Meghan Marie Photography!

Who keeps their car cleaner?

Me..

Who said “I love you” first?

I did. Over text.. I was young and foolish.

Where, when, and what was your first date?

National Harbor, June 24, 2009, dinner at Rosa Mexicano. Boom.

Where was Taylor born? (then where were you born)

Pink hospital in Hawaii. I was born in the house I am currently living in..

What is Taylor’s favorite type of music? (then yours)

If it’s summer and she is driving it is Country/Dance/Pop music, if she’s with friends it’s just Dance/Pop, if she’s by herself it is Alternative/Indie/Acoustic, if she’s sad it is Indie/Acoustic-ish, starting the day after Thanksgiving until December 24th it’s Christmas music, and the rest of the time it’s a mix of all of those minus the Christmas music but including worship and sometimes a random other type. I like Country, Acoustic, Indie, and then songs that make me want to fight people. Radioactive always makes me want to punch someone.

What is the first thing you noticed about Taylor?

Her petite figure and the elegant way she carried herself. No joke.

Where was your first kiss?

I am only willing to disclose this information because it has been many years since it happened and the wound is mostly healed.. It was in the dead of winter by a nasty little pond next to Panera Bread in High Point, NC and it was awful. It was the first time for both of us and I didn’t actually want to, I just felt like it was my duty as a boyfriend to make it happen. It makes me sad every time I have to think about it. I didn’t have great aim so I hit about 15% of her mouth, 25% cheek, and 60% chin. We were both in such shock about how bad it was that we didn’t talk about it for a while. We like to pretend it never happened.

What is the most annoying habit of Taylor’s?

She likes to put cups of water on the ground while she sits on the couch and then she likes to kick it over and spill it all over the carpet.

City or country? (then you)

Taylor is half and half. I was made to be a hillbilly but was mistakenly born in Northern Virginia.

What’s Taylor’s guilty pleasure? (then yours)

Taylor is not great at saying no to anything sweet. I cannot deny a donut. I had 4 at work a couple of weeks ago. And I like most chick flicks..

What is Taylor’s favorite color? (then yours) Teal. Teal everything. If a motorcycle/car is black, I’m sold.

What is your favorite memory with Taylor?

The day we got engaged was a pretty fun day.

What is the funniest thing you did to attract Taylor?

While we weren’t dating, there was a time that we were both at the same Christmas party and I was trying to leave when she left, so she would see my new truck. I thought she was leaving, so I went out to my truck, but then she didn’t come out for a while. So to burn some time I pretended that I was getting something out of the back seat. For like 5 minutes I stood there acting like I was doing something, looking over my shoulder waiting for Taylor to come out. That’s the only thing that comes to mind right now but I know there were many times I tried to attract her. Failed in most of my attempts but succeeded enough to keep her around so I’m okay with it.
