I’m so excited to share this beautiful Jamaica destination wedding as part TWO to Nik and Angela’s wedding celebrations at the Royalton Blue Waters in Montego Bay, Jamaica! Complete with manicured palm trees, white sand beaches, and teal ocean views, it was a dream for any Montego Bay wedding photographer, and surely for us!
Anytime we have a destination wedding, we always come two days prior to the wedding day, 1, so that any possible flight delays don’t prevent us from getting there on time, and 2, so we can scope out the new location and find all of our portrait spots before the wedding day! This allows us to show up to each destination day and remain as prepared as we are for our local weddings. Because we were going to be there a few days early, it created the perfect time to do their engagement session, before the festivities began! And, with a Montego Bay wedding, we just had to take advantage of the beautiful location!
We scheduled their session for the morning before Nik and Angela’s Royalton Blue Waters wedding, and we were graced with absolutely gorgeous weather! We quickly learned on our trip that October in Jamaica looks like warm sun in the morning, rainstorms in the afternoon, and a clear evening, giving way to a beautiful sunset, every day. The timing lined up perfectly with this sunrise Montego Bay engagement session!
But the best part about the session was getting to spend time together before the wedding day! The benefit to doing an engagement session with your wedding photographer, rather than a friend, is that it gives them a chance to get to know your favorite poses (or anything you’d like them to keep in mind) before the wedding, so we can go straight to those on the wedding day. We had so much fun getting to know these two, they became instant friends and couldn’t wait to continue celebrating them the next day! Below are just a few favorites of the morning!
If you’re looking for outfit inspiration for your upcoming engagement session, Angela wore a light lace gown from Lulu’s that was perfect for their session!
