DC Engagement Photos captured by Taylor Rose Photography
We got to take Donna & Giorgio’s Meridian Hill engagement photos on one of the most gorgeous mornings in September so far, just before it went back to 90 degrees! Meridian Hill Park is just outside of one of the best DC wedding venues, the Meridian House, which is essentially a beautiful historic home in the heart of DC. If you’re planning a Meridian House wedding, you’ll want to venture across the street for portraits in Meridian Hill Park!
Donna & Giorgio share my love for traveling and are doing a destination wedding in Mexico next year! As we brainstormed location options for their session, they were originally thinking of having a Lincoln Memorial engagement session, as that’s where Giorgio proposed. He’d been hoping that a week night evening may have been less crowded for the proposal, but when they got to the monument, it was still packed with tourists. Undeterred, he went on with the proposal, and it turned into a huge celebration when everyone realized what was happening! So sweet!
They wanted a setting that was a little more romantic, though, almost a garden feel, and Meridian Hill was the perfect spot. It felt like a secret garden, with Romeo & Juliet style balconies! As a DC wedding photographer, I love shooting in these hidden gems in the middle of an otherwise busy and crowded city!
Donna & Giorgio, it was such a joy to spend the morning with you, I left with such a full heart! It was so beautiful to see the way you love each other, cheer for each other, and help each other in the smallest of ways, even during an engagement session. This will surely carry into bigger things as well, you’ll be an inspiration and encouragement to so many people! I’m so excited for you guys (including Giorgio & Gino!) and all that’s happening this next year!!
