Oh this day!! We escaped to Santorini for a few weeks last summer, just after Ben graduated from (many) years of school, and it’s one of our favorite memories to date. This day, in particular, was unforgettable. With everything going on now, I’m all the more grateful that we could do this when we did! To shoot in one of my favorite places brought me so much joy, I imagine there’s not a single Santorini wedding photographer that gets tired of these views!!
Amanda & Art are both travel nurses, moving every few months and serving in new cities. They love traveling as much as we do and became instant friends – we couldn’t help but grab drinks again later that week, before parting ways to different islands! It was so sweet to commemorate their engagement season with an inspirational shoot on this gorgeous island!
Imerovigli will always have my heart, it’s even more charming in real life. For our couples planning a Santorini honeymoon, be sure to add this to your list! It’s the perfect gem of historic, whitewashed streets, ocean views, and vibrant sunsets. We took our sweet time venturing around, and had nearly every spot to ourselves! If you’re planning a larger destination wedding, Imerovigli also holds one of the best Santorini wedding venues, Le Ciel Santorini.
The day began in Renia Bledaki’s hair and makeup studio, which was conveniently in the village where we’d be taking their portraits. A word to the wise for my travel friends – Santorini is actually bigger than you’d think, so if you’re planning a Santorini elopement or destination wedding, make sure you plan for transition time! In this case, it worked out perfectly, we could walk to each location!
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about micro weddings and elopements, it’s that even having just one bridal bouquet can add so much beauty to your portraits. In this case, Amanda had a full peony bouquet, bursting with vibrant florals flown all the way from Holland and paired locally by Betty Flowers Santorini. So beautifully styled!
Enjoy a few of my favorites from this gorgeous day!
Prettiest vintage turquoise ring for her “Something Blue.”
